AB - This paper aims to explore the communicative purposes and move structure of Case
Reports in Dental Medicine (CRDMs) and to determine the similarities and differences
between them and Medical Case Reports (MCRs). The corpus for this study consisted of 20
CRDMs published in the following peer-reviewed journals: Clinical Case Reports and Case
Reports in Dentistry in the period between 2016 and 2019. The structural move analysis
method developed by Swales (1981, 1990, 2004) was applied to identify the moves and
steps in Case Presentation sections, as well as the communicative purposes of whole
CRDMs. The Lancsbox 4.5. concordance tool was used to explore the concepts of NOVELTY
and RARITY associated with the communicative purposes of MCRs to investigate whether
they are associated with CRDMs as well. The correlation between the text length and the
communicative purposes of CRDMs is also examined. This study contributes to genre
research by providing a detailed analysis of the communicative purposes of CRDMs and by
presenting the findings of the structural move analysis of their Case Presentation sections.

Doctor-patient communication in medicine and dental medicine

AB - Doctor-patient communication is a type of institutional communication in which distinct linguistic features can significantly affect patient satisfaction and treatment outcome. A medical encounter has a clearly defined structure that has been shifting from clinician-centred to patient-centred. Therefore, it is of utter importance for prospective doctors and dentists to be aware of the role of language when communicating with their patients. Given the fact that working in a medical/dental practice has become increasingly international, the paper focuses on the role of the English language. New communicative models and environments such as Computer-Mediated Medical Communication (CMMC) and Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) are also presented.
Novi komunikativni
modeli i okruženja poput kompjuterski posredovane medicinske komunikacije i video-interakcije takođe su predstavljeni u radu.

AB - Health care has witnessed considerable progresses toward quality improvement over the past two decades. More precisely, there have been global efforts aimed to improve this aspect of health care along with experts and decision-makers reaching the consensus that quality is one of the most significant dimensions and features of health system. Quality health care implies highly efficient resource use in order to meet patient's needs in terms of prevention and treatment. Quality health care is provided in a safe way while meeting patients' expectations and avoiding unnecessary losses. The mission of continuous improvement in quality of care is to achieve safe and reliable health care through mutual efforts of all the key supporters of health system to protect patients' interests. A systematic approach to measuring the process of care through quality indicators (QIs) poses the greatest challenge to continuous quality improvement in health care. Quality indicators are quantitative indicators used for monitoring and evaluating quality of patient care and treatment, continuous professional development (CPD), maintaining waiting lists, patients and staff satisfaction, and patient safety.
Vizija stalnog unapređenja kvaliteta je dostizanje bezbedne i sigurne zdravstvene zaštite koju zajedničkim naporima razvijaju svi ključni akteri u zdravstvenom sistemu u interesu pacijenta. Najveći izazov za stalno unapređenje kvaliteta zdravstvene zaštite je sistematski pristup njegovom merenju, putem pokazatelja kvaliteta. Pod pokazateljima kvaliteta podrazumevamo kvantitativane pokazatelje koji se koriste za praćenje i evaluaciju kvaliteta nege i lečenja pacijenata, sticanje i obnovu znanja i veština zaposlenih, vođenje lista čekanja, zadovoljstvo korisnika uslugama zdravstvene službe, zadovoljstvo zaposlenih, kao i bezbednost pacijenata.
