Articulation problems of tongue and floor of the mouth cancer persons

Abstract

The aim of this study is articulation examinations of the tongue and floor of the mouth cancer persons. Examination was done in 36 persons divided into three groups depending of postoperative defect reconstruction. The first group was partly reconstructed. The second group, after tumor excision was reconstructed with local flaps and mobilization of oral mucosa. The third group was reconstructed with pectoralis major musculocutaneous flaps, or with cutaneous nasolabial flaps. Objective articulation assessment was done through Global articulation test, (Kostic, Vladisavljevic). The results show that the articulation was disturbed, and marked from 2,55 to 3,61. Depending of the type of reconstruction, there are differences between groups. On the group reconstructed with pectoralis major and naslolabial flaps, articulation was significantly worse compared to other two groups.

Cilj rada je ispitivanje artikulacije osoba operisanih od karcinoma jezika i poda usta. Istraživanje je obavljeno na 36 ispitanika podeljenih u tri grupe u odnosu na rekonstrukciju postoperativnog defekta. Prva grupa je bila delimično rekonstruisana. Druga grupa je posle ekscizije tumora rekonstruisana lokalnim režnjevima ili mobilizacijom oralne sluzokože. Kod treće grupe, defekt posle uklanjanja tumora je rekonstruisan kožnomišićnim pektoralis major režnjevima ili kožnim nazolabijalnim režnjevima. Objektivna procena izgovora vršena je na osnovu Globalnog artikulacionog testa, (Kostić, Vladisavljević). Rezultati istraživanja, ukupno gledano, pokazuju da je izgovor svih glasovnih grupa poremećen i ocenjen ocenama od 2,55 do 3,61. U zavisnosti od rekonstrukcije, postoje razlike između grupa. U grupi rekonstruisanih pektoralis major i nazolabijalnim režnjevima, izgovor je značajno lošiji u odnosu na ostale dve grupe.
