Articulation and tongue mobility evaluation of tongue and floor of the mouth cancer patients

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate articulation of tongue and floor of the mouth cancer patients, which were done by speech pathologist, amateur judges and subjective judgement, as well as tongue mobility was investigated. Subjective speech assessment was done through the questionnaire form. Objective articulation assessment was done through Global articulation test. Tongue mobility was examined as possible articulation disorder factor. It was concluded that the subjective speech assessment was pessimistic; articulation of all groups of sounds was disturbed on the same level; the most important articulation factor was tongue movement in up and down direction.

Cilj rada je stručna, laička i subjektivna procena artikulacije i objektivno utvrđivanje pokretljivosti jezika operisanih od tumora jezika i poda usta. Istraživanje je obavljeno na 60 ispitanika. Subjektivna procena govora vršena je na osnovu upitnika koji je ispitanik popunjavao. Govor je objektivno procenjivan na osnovu Globalnog artikulacionog testa. Potom je ispitana pokretljivost jezika, kao mogući faktor poremećaja izgovora. Zaključeno je da je: subjektivna procena govora prilično pesimistična; izgovor svih glasovnih grupa, u proseku, približno podjednako poremećen; najznačajnija determinanta izgovora je pokretljivost jezika u pravcu gore-dole.
